| Description of the problem | Shasta model 2015 airflyte 16 re-issue inadequate load carrying capacity for dry weight. Vehicle suspension (leaf springs) not engineered to carry the load. This travel trailer was only pulled from the selling dealer in jacksonville, fl to my house approximately 350 miles away. Tire tread marks were noted on the upper inside of the wheel wells where there had been obvious contact during normal (unloaded / as delivered weight) transport on well maintained roads. Shasta (manufacturer) at first did not even acknowledge the problem so i replaced springs at my own expense. There has never been any formal recall type information issued by shasta notifying me of this issue but there is a "rumor" they have a fix in the form of longer shackles. |
